Creating Comprehensible Content for a Global Audience
Example of: E-learning
Problem: Creating content for a global audience involves designing content that is comprehensible to the audience. Many times elearning solutions written by native speakers of a language are written at a much higher proficiency level than that of the audience, leading to a decrease in trust, engagement and performance. World Paper Global, our concept company, has noticed productivity rates in their global clients has been down 20% over the last quarter. Learners have expressed frustration with recent training initiatives and feel undervalued.
Solution: This elearning course is designed to introduce instructional designers of World Paper Global to strategies they can use to increase the readability and accessibility of text created for global clients. Learners will leave the course with a better understanding of language proficiency levels, readability of text and actionable steps they can take to create comprehensible content for global clients. This course is designed in Articulate Rise 360, a user friendly elearning platform that is interactive, user friendly and accessible. This is a concept project demonstrating how elearning can be utilized to foster interactive, meaningful learning to drive business goals.

Mentoring Quick Tips - Problem-Solving
Example of: Microlearning
Problem: New teacher mentors need to be able to shift from a consulting role of "putting out fires" to a coaching role, guiding mentees toward self-directed learning. When problems arise mentors often jump towards solution thinking prematurely. Many mentor training programs lack the tools and resources mentors need to facilitate coaching conversations, leading to frustration in both mentors and mentees and higher turn-over rates.
Solution: This microlearinng coruse is designed to introduce mentors to a conversation framework they can use to facilitate problem-solving conversations with their mentees. Learners will learn more about the three main components of the conversation framework and engage in a pulse-check assessment with a call to action at the end of the course. This microcourse is designed in 7Taps, a microlearning platform that is user friendly, accessible and ideal for just in time learning. This is a concept project demonstrating how microlearning can be used to support deeper learning.

Problem-Solving Conversation Mat
Example of: Job Aid
Problem: New teacher mentors are often placed in a consulting role, "putting out fires" and solving problems with mentees. It can be easy to provide a quick solution or resource, but the ultimate goal is to guide the mentee toward self-directed learning through targeted coaching. Many mentor training programs lack the tools and resources mentors can use to facilitate coaching conversations, leading to frustration in both mentors and mentees and higher turn-over rates.
Solution: These job aids are designed to help new teacher mentors facilitate problem-solving conversations with their mentees, moving away from "putting out fires" toward providing the mentee with the tools they need to effectively solve problems on their own. The conversation mat provides a conversation framework with sentence stems and scaffolds to support mentors in guiding the mentee toward self-directed learning by asking targeted questions and using cognitive coaching principles. This is a concept project demonstrating how job aids can be utilized to support deeper learning.
